The Lion and the Wolf
A story of a rebellious wolf who wants nothing to do with King Lion but ultimately has a change of heart when he comes face to face with losing the ones he loves the most. King Lion puts on display a sacrificial love as a final act of pursuit to try and save the lost wolf.
Worth in the Wait
Noa wants to connect with her world through her art. She becomes discouraged when people do not seem to appreciate her art, but ultimately realizes that if she had received immediate applause and approval from others, she would have missed out on the lesson God was trying to teach her in the waiting. That He is with her and is pleased by her creating, regardless of other people’s response to her art.
I’ll Love You Just the Same
A personal story that I wrote for my first born when she was 9 months old and slower to learn her speech sounds. I still remember crying on the couch because of the amount of pressure I put on myself and on her. I needed to remind my soul that my hope is not in who she becomes or what she achieves, it is in who God has made her to be and what He has already achieved for her.
The New Way
Owen is a social boy who loves the company of his friends. He admires and adores them, but sometimes can’t help but compare himself. It’s easy for him to see the gift in others, but he struggles to see his own gift. It takes an intentional encouragement from his dad to help him realize he is indeed uniquely gifted, even if his gift is not as visible as others.
How Long Will Darkness Last?
Scarlett eagerly awaits the morning as she wonders, “How long will Darkness Last?” This story was inspired by seasons of personal depression where I asked myself that same question. The ending calls readers to challenge their hearts to remember that the Son is always there, even when we don’t see Him. Indeed, the blazing sun shall pierce the knight. Indeed, the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Love is Steady, Love is Slow
This is a story that points to God’s hesed love—steadfast and patient love. A reminder that we can love one another more deeply by choosing to spend our time in a way that is meaningful, prioritizing people over convenience. Our God is never in a hurry, he walks with us. He is a 3 miles per hour-God.
Hope Come True
A personal poem written for a loved one that struggled with infertility. Sometimes all we can do is hope, and hoping is enough when we place our hope in one that does not fail.
